Tampa Bay Leadership Prayer Breakfast

Tampa, FL March 18, 2009 – Our present business, political, and financial climate demonstrates now, more than ever, how important it is for all of us to pray for our leaders.  The 38^th annual Tampa Bay Leadership Prayer Breakfast is held each year to pray for all of our leaders in every walk of life.  This year's prayer event is scheduled for Tuesday, May 12, 2009 at the A La Carte Event Pavilion in Tampa, Florida, from 6:55 to 8:35 a.m. with a buffet breakfast format.  The keynote speaker this year will be Mr. Norm Miller, Chairman of Interstate Batteries. 

Mr. Miller shares the kind of wisdom you're not likely to hear from many top executives in the business world. For one thing, he is a believer. He believes in the American Dream because he's lived it. Mr. Miller is also a believer in God's power to change lives, because it was that power which turned his own life around after years of drinking hard as he worked.

 The event is also an outreach to those who might not hear the gospel in another way.  Since 1971, the Tampa Bay Leadership Prayer Breakfast has assembled area leaders each spring to do as in 1 Timothy 2:1-2 and "pray for those in authority." 

 Attendance this year is expected to reach 800, exceeding last year's near capacity audience who listened to Mr. Truett Cathy of Chick-Fil-A.  Prominent business, political, government, military, and worship leaders are always in attendance.  Sponsored by the Tampa chapter of CBMC, a national organization focused on discipleship and leadership, the event draws many women as well as men. 

Individual tickets are $30 and tables of ten are $275 available for purchase on line at www.tampabayprayerbreakfast.com.  Corporate sponsorships are also available.

Sponsored by CBMC (Christian Businessmen Connections), a national organization focused on discipleship and leadership, the breakfast has been celebrated in Tampa being founded during Dick Greco's first term in 1971, then known as the Mayor's Prayer Breakfast. More recently it has been renamed the Tampa Bay Leadership Prayer Breakfast to better reflect our community and our outreach efforts to encompass the entire Tampa Bay metro area.

 Our purpose is to pray, as a community, for those in authority (1 Timothy 2:1-2) and to reach out with the message that God desires a personal relationship with each one of us. www.tampabayprayerbreakfast.com
